TUESDAY:

Pizza fundraiser - Eat pizza and help raise money to fight cancer. Ricky D’s pizza will be sponsoring a fundraiser on May 6 from 5 - 8 p.m. to raise money for Molalla 2008 Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society. Take a break from cooking and help raise money for a good cause. Molalla MOMS Club is hosting this event.

 

Kindergarten Roundup - Butte Creek School will hold their annual kindergarten roundup on Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the school library. Children must be five years of age by Sept. 1, 2008. Childcare will be provided. Please bring child’s birth certificate and immunization information and call the school office at (503) 829-6803 to register.

 

THURSDAY:

McTeacher Night - Local teachers will be working at Molalla McDonald’s on May 8 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. to earn 20 percent of all sales for their schools. Ronald McDonald will be there from 6-7 p.m. to meet and greet the kids.

 

FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY:

Quilt show and sale- The Molalla Area Historical Society is presenting its annual show of treasured quilts May 9-11 at the Molalla Museum Complex on 620 S. Molalla Ave. About 150 quilts, including several that were brought to Oregon on the Oregon Trail, will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This display of traditional quilts honors our mothers as skilled women with personal interests and stories to tell with their needles. The sale includes 75 quilt tops from the Connie Reynolds collection - both old and new in a variety of fabrics and unusual patterns. Tea and cookies served 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. A homemade soup luncheon is available 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Admission to the show, including a tour of the museum complex, is $5 for adults. Children under 12 are free. All proceeds will help further restoration and preservation of the Museum Complex.

 

SATURDAY:

Plant sale - Boy Scout Troop/Crew 161 will be selling plants at the Molalla Grange, located down the street from the bowling alley at 127 Grange Ave. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Steps for Life - The 11th Annual Steps for Life fundraiser benefitting the nonprofit Canby, Molalla and Woodburn Pregnancy Care Centers will take place May 10. The event is a two-mile stroll beginning at Foothills Community Church in Molalla. All walkers, with or without pledge forms, need to register between 1 and 1:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to participate in this fun event. There will be puppets, face painting, balloon art, a soloist, a speaker and refreshments. Great prizes, t-shirts and sweatshirts will be awarded to adults, youth and children who collect enough pledges. Pledge forms can be obtained at the Molalla PCC at 120 Engle Ave., the Canby PCC at 149 N. Holly St. or the Woodburn PCC at 967 N. Cascade Dr. and many churches in the area. The Pregnancy Care Centers offer complimentary pregnancy tests, confidential peer counseling, information and referrals. Baby clothes (size 0-2T), maternity clothes, baby items and furniture can be earned through the Learn N’ Earn parenting program. SUNDAY:

Mother’s Day breakfast - Mulino Lions Club is hosting their annual Mother’s Day breakfast on May 11 from 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Mulino Elementary School. Proceeds go toward various Lions Club projects, which include providing eye glasses and hearing aids for local students.
