Molalla, Colton boys hoops teams meet Thursday

The Molalla sixth- and seventh-grade basketball team finished second at its season-ending tournament in the Oregon City Spring League. The team finished with a 7-1 record, falling in the championship game to Lake Oswego, 63-57, for its lone loss. To get to the championship game, Molalla beat Clackamas in the first game, 82-62, and defeated Putnam in the second game, 80-57. In a rare matchup between two local teams, Molalla and Colton will square off in a boys basketball game as part of the Mount Hood Team Camp on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Colton High School.
   The game is part of a three-day camp involving 11 boys basketball teams around the state, taking place at Colton High School, Colton Middle School and Colton Elementary School.
   On Thursday at 4 p.m., Molalla will also face Country Christian at Colton Middle School. The two teams meet again on Friday at 2:10 p.m. at Colton Elementary
   Another matchup pits Colton against Country Christian on Friday at 3:05 p.m. at Colton Elementary.
   Colton’s other games are Thursday at 9 a.m. against Willamina at CES, against Hosanna Christian on Thursday at 3 p.m. at CHS, against Estacada on Friday at 9 a.m. at CHS and against Spray on Friday at 2:10 p.m.
   Molalla’s other scheduled games are against Willamina on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at CES, against Vancouver Christian on Thursday at 10 a.m. at CMS, against North Clackamas on Thursday at 3 p.m. at CMS, against Western Mennonite on Friday at 9 a.m. at CMS and against Spray on Friday at 4 p.m. at CES.
   The other eight teams scheduled for the camp are Days Creek, North Clackamas Christian, Western Mennonite, Willamina, Spray, Estacada, Hosanna Christian and Vancouver Christian.
   The girls basketball camp began Sunday and ended Tuesday.
