Molalla High School awarded their athletic awards on Sunday, May 18.
The awards honored all types of athletes, ranging from Most Valuable Players for specific sports to OSAA's Award of Excellence.
The senior athletes of the year were Mikayla Bradbury and Tarance Glynn.
Bradbury placed ninth at OSAA's class 4A state cross country meet and second in the 1,500 and the 3,000 meters races at the state track and field meet.
She ran a personal best by seven seconds in the 3,000 (10:21.45). Bradbury followed with a lap as the second leg of the school record-setting 4x400 relay team (4:01.3).
She signed a full tuition athletic scholarship with Lane Community College and plans on transferring to the University of Oregon to major in sports marketing.
Glynn has received awards as both a wide receiver for the football team and was the Capital Conference player of the year in class 4A basketball. He signed an athletic scholarship to play football at Western Oregon University.
Glynn tallied 565 yards receiving and averaged 20.18 yards a catch. He was an all-league second-teamer on offense and defense in the Capital Conference.
Bradbury shared Most Valuable Player with teammate Lauren Loutzenhiser for cross country and was named as MVP for the girls track team.
Glynn was named as MVP for boys basketball.
Part of the roster for the OACA/ Gatorade All-Stars team, he was one of 1,500 nation-wide nominees for McDonald's All American high school boys' basketball team. Glynn received a plaque and a year's supply of Big Macs for the nomination.
Amanda Luna and Tyler Spinas were the junior athletes of the year. Luna set a school record on the girls track team in triple jump with a mark of 36 feet, 8.25 inches.
Named all-league third team in the Capital Conference, Luna led the girls basketball team in scoring.
Spinas was one wrestling match win away from placing at state. As a tight end in football, Spinas caught a 12-yard pass from Jacob Moore in Molalla’s 20-0 win over North Marion.
Moore won the sophomore athlete of the year with classmate Melissa Gibbons.
Moore scored 18 points from six three-pointers against La Salle to help Molalla to the 4A state playoffs and was quarterback of the football team.
Gibbons shot a 189 to place 35th at OSAA’s class 4A, 3A, 2A golf tournament and played some memorable minutes on the girls basketball team.
Anna Russell and Adam Hayner were named the top freshmen athletes.
Russell played soccer, basketball and softball. Hayner placed second at state wrestling at 112 pounds.
