In October, the Colton Fire District received three Life-Pak 12s from the Portland Fire Bureau. Prior to that, the department had one Life-Pak for the entire department.

Colton’s Jordan Harris and his band GuyDilly & The Powers are among Portland’s favorite local artists. He is the kind of guy who has always responded when he has seen a need in the community.

The Grange celebrated Halloween this year by giving third-graders at Clarkes Elementary School super-size treats. Grangers gave each kid a dictionary.Clarkes Grange donated 39 copies of “A Student’s Dictionary and Gazetteer” to students from the classes of Ms.

Last Saturday found a lot of fun and activity going on at the Union Mills Feed Store. By the time I got there, a local team roper cowboy, Derek Davis, was teaching some young girls and boys the technique of cattle roping.

The staff and students at Mulino Elementary School are very busy this time of year. In an effort to motivate the students to collect their Box Tops & Labels for Education, they have introduced a little friendly competition between classes as motivation.

Last weekend, the volunteers of Colton Aid Network (CAN) put together Thanksgiving food baskets for 23 families.The boxes were filled with turkey, milk, eggs, bread, bananas, apples, potatoes, celery, carrots and more.

Holiday Bazaar.There were so many vendors, they spilled out into the hall and into the cafeteria. I say ‘holiday’ not because I am one of those politically correct people who doesn’t want the Christ kept in Christmas, but because the bazaar was held before Thanksgiving, so there were plenty of autumn-themed items vailable as well.
