Mike Clarke was 19 when he left Vietnam after serving there two years in the U.S. Army as a door gunner on an HU-1 helicopter. A few weeks ago, he returned to the Mekong Delta for the first time since that day in 1969 when he headed for home.

It looks like there is at least one organization showing strong interest in keeping services at the Molalla Adult Center going. Interim City Manager Mark Gervasi said Wednesday that the city is working with Clackamas County social services to call for an RFP to find someone to manage the adult center in terms of Meals on Wheels, plus the meals provided in the center.

Molalla residents may be looking at an increase on their PGE electric bills if last minute changes to the city’s PGE franchise agreement go through. City councilors at Wednesday’s meeting said to be comparable to the fees in other cities, they want Molalla’s franchise fees with PGE set at 5 percent.

A First Student school bus carrying Molalla students landed in a ditch on Vick Road about one mile from Molalla at approximately 3:30 p.m. today. A Clackamas County deputy at the scene said children were aboard the bus when it crashed, but nobody was injured.
