Just a little over a week ago, Colton and Country Christian met in a jamboree. In just the eight minutes they played each other, Country Christian imposed its will, jumping out to a 10-0 lead, thanks to a full-court press.

It was a bizarre ending to what was otherwise a remarkable game.In a game of runs, with Country Christian extending various leads throughout the game only to see Colton claw their way back, it was a controversial call in the end that helped send the Colton Vikings home with a 52-49 win Monday night in the Country Christian gym.

Five teams battled it out at Colton High School for wrestling supremacy Saturday.Though eight teams were supposed to show, three cancelled at the last minute, leaving most weight classes with round-robin tournaments.

Calvin Hayes continued his successful run on the wrestling mats this season, taking first place at 160-pounds at the Scio Tournament on Saturday.Hayes took down David Kovelda of Vernonia to win the weight class.
