The Country Church (16975 S. Highway 211, Molalla) invites the public to join them this Sunday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. for a free performance by the African Children’s Choir.

The choir features 23 elementary school-aged children from Uganda. Some are orphans and others come from families suffering extreme poverty. The choir members travel throughout the U.S., even performing on the Tonight Show and American Idol, serving as ambassadors for children in poverty.

“It’s an hour-long concert filled with songs and dance,” said Kelly Hernandez of the Country Church. “They’ll sing in their native tongue and also in English.”

The organization’s slogan is “Helping Africa’s most vulnerable children today, so they can help Africa tomorrow.”

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for Music for Life, a nonprofit organization providing the choir members and other children in need with food, clothing and an education to prepare them for a successful future.

“They’re absolutely entertaining and full of energy,” Hernandez said. “We’re excited to have them here again.
