The 1938 edition of 'The Arrow,' Molalla High School's annual yearbook, mentions Buckeroos as a moniker for the boys basketball team. The high school's Native American mascot was banned May 17 by the state Board of Education.
At least one team at the local high school was briefly
referred to as the Buckeroos, according to yearbooks from the late 1930s, an
interesting revelation in light of the state’s ban on Native American mascots.
