Smokey the Bear and Oregon Department of Forestry firefighters are urging citizens to respect the current burn ban. Backyard burning and campfires are prohibited.
The recent dry weather, low relative humidity and strong east winds escalate risks for wildfires, so a ban on all backyard burning and campfires is expected to stay in place through October.
