Bill MabenBill Maben, Molalla, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, after being treated for acute heart problems at Meridian Park Hospital. He was 74. His wife of 43 years, Audrey, preceded him in death in 1997.

The Molalla bowling team rolled to a third place finish out of 16 teams on Sunday at Molalla Bowl. Molalla had the high game of the day (266) and the highest total pins on the day.

The Molalla Indians hit the road last week for a pair of games, but returned home with only one win.It was a tale of two halves on Tuesday, Dec. 4, as the Indians fell behind early to the host Scappoose Indians, who had built an eight-point lead at halftime, thanks to tough defense on Molalla big man Bradley Hagaman, who was limited to just two first half points.

It was a heartbreaking way to end the night for the Molalla Indians, losing to the Scappoose Indians (1-1) 39-37 in non-league on Dec. 4.For most of the night, it was an offensive struggle for both sides.



Banks too much for Molalla in opener

Everything went well for the Molalla Indians in the opening minutes of the game, building a 6-0 lead. But it fell apart just as quickly as the Banks Braves (1-0) cruised past the Molalla Indians (0-1) 54-25 in the season opener for both teams in non-league action Friday night.

Molalla youth soccer team wins nine-straight to end season

After starting the season with a tie and a loss, the Molalla Storm rallied to win nine-consecutive games, ending their season with a 9-1-1 record.In fact, the Storm were so dominant, they outscored their opponents 64-38 — and it could have been worse.

A Clackamas County deputy rescued a suicidal woman Tuesday night after she jumped into the Molalla River.At about 6:53 p.m., the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned mother who said her 48-year-old daughter was suicidal.
